Cast your mind back to 6th March 2025 — it’s a regular Wednesday, you’re doing whatever you do on a midweek morning, maybe the BBC is playing in the background... and then boom, you suddenly see LV on the TV?!
On 17th February, Little Victories had the incredible opportunity to head over to the University of York’s Sports Centre to film with the BBC and Jake Brown — winner of The Traitors 2024 and elite cerebral palsy athlete for the CP England Football Team.
As you can imagine, this was such an amazing experience for both our players and coaches — we had so much fun throughout the day!
Our coaches — Sam, Skye, Katie, and Gary — had a full day of activities lined up for our players, from warm-ups to mini-matches. The kids were definitely put through their paces. And then, just when they thought the day couldn’t get better… Coach Gary brought out Jake to join in all the fun!
I mean, how amazing is it to play against an England footballer, right?!
After all that excitement, we sat down with Jake for a Q&A — chatting about his life, football career, and most importantly, his pets.
It was such a unique opportunity for the kids to speak openly with an elite athlete — asking anything and everything!
Two of our Little Victories family even made it into the final BBC cut… Keep reading to find out who!
We also got to spend time with the fantastic team at Cerebral Palsy Sport, an organisation that helps people with CP unlock their full sporting potential — no matter the challenges.
When we weren’t playing, watching the Powerchair and Disability teams train was such a boost. Just seeing them in action inspired our players to dream big.
One player even turned to me and said:
“So… you’re saying I could be like them in the future? Whoa… that’s so cool.”
And between us… it took everything in me not to cry when they said that.
Because that’s what disability sport is all about — showing these amazing kids that there are people who look like them, doing brilliant things in sport.
So, we all waited excitedly for the big day: the BBC Morning Live broadcast. And when it finally aired, we were buzzing to see ourselves on TV!
Near the end of the feature, our very own William and Coach Katie (aka the LV version of Ant & Dec) were showcased during the Q&A with Jake — what a moment!
Thank you, Jake!
Thank you, BBC!
And thank you to everyone who made this day so special.
We’re still not over it... and probably won’t be for a while.
