A new community initiative, Little Victories Active, is launching this month at Baysgarth Community Hub, offering fun, supportive movement sessions designed specifically for adults living with long-term health conditions.

Funded by Sport England, the project is being led by Little Victories in the Community, whose mission is to change lives through inclusive sport and activity.

The sessions aim to build confidence, reduce isolation, and empower people to move more in a relaxed, judgment-free space.

The free sessions will run every Tuesday evening from 7–8pm and Thursday lunchtime from 12–1pm, making them accessible to a broad range of participants, whether they're working, retired, or managing a flexible routine.

“We know that for many people living with long-term conditions, the idea of exercising can feel daunting,” said Sophie Bartup from Little Victories. “This project is about changing that and creating a space where people feel welcome, supported, and able to enjoy movement again. It’s about celebrating the small steps, the little victories, and helping people feel good in their own bodies.”

The sessions will involve gentle movement, light games, and social interaction, no fitness experience required. It’s all about moving more, having fun, and improving wellbeing in a way that works for each individual.

Calling All Stakeholders

Local organisations, healthcare professionals, support groups, and community leaders are encouraged to spread the word and get involved.

“We’re keen to work with partners who support people with long-term health conditions, whether that's GP surgeries, social prescribers, local charities, or support services. Referrals, signposting, and co-promotion can help ensure the people who need this most know it’s here,” the team added.

There are also opportunities for stakeholders to collaborate on future sessions, volunteer support, or outreach initiatives, especially as the programme grows.

How to Get Involved:
