Little Victories FC Volunteer Steph WINS Time2Volunteer Award!

Steph, a remarkable individual with a heart dedicated to helping others, has recently received a well-deserved volunteer award, winning the Active and Sport category at the Time2Volunteer Awards 2023.

Steph receives her Award from Active Humber CEO David Gent.

This recognition for Steph serves as a testament to her exceptional commitment and selflessness, as a coach and welfare officer for Little Victories FC, our cerebral palsy football team.

The inspiring story behind Steph's achievement and the positive impact she has made on so many players and their families, first began when she saw a poster promoting our football team, that she thought would be a great opportunity for her sons. This was in March 2022.

Steph joined LVFC as a parent when her twin boys Henry and Herbie became players. Herbie (far left) and Henry (far right). Joined by step-sister and number one supporter Lacie. Here they are at the National Frame Football Festival at St George's Park.

The Journey of a Passionate Volunteer

A Heart Full of Compassion

Steph's journey as a volunteer began with a heart full of compassion, when she responded to a post from the club, asking if any parents would like to help.

Motivated by her genuine care for others, and new found love of football, she embarked on a mission to expand her knowledge, complete FA training and she soon became a trusted person for new players and their families as they joined LVFC.

Whether it's delivering sessions, planning events, connecting with new families, Steph's dedication is unwavering.

Steph was joined at the awards by volunteers Shaun and Maria, who was shortlisted in the 'Older Category' at the 2022 Awards.

Little Victories in the Community Volunteer Director Katrina Day shares her pride:

"This award celebrates Steph's unwavering commitment, selflessness, and the profound impact she has made on the lives of many. Steph's dedication serves as a shining example for others, inspiring many more parents to get involved, too."

Steph's journey as a volunteer highlights the power of compassion and the immense impact that one person can make.
