On Saturday 20th July 2024, hosted at Goxhill Memorial Hall, the Little Victories FC football family joined together to celebrate the 2023/2024 season!

The LVFC awards evening was organised by our Little Victories FC Project Lead Steph, without who it really wouldn’t have been possible, so we would like to take the time to extend a thank you to Steph from all of us at Little Victories FC; from the parents, coaches, players and sponsors, thank you Steph for organising such a good night!

Full of laughter, games, prizes and our entire LV family, the night was certainly one to remember!

The first award of the night, Parents Player, was presented by volunteer Kayla to Stan and Emma for their hard work, their ability to play with others and how dedicated they have been over the last season!

Overall, this award is for the players that really shone. What well deserved winners!

Emma could not be at the awards ceremony on the night, so her award was given to her at the following Saturday LV training session.

A massive thank you has to go out to Children’s Physiotherapist and friend of Little Victories, Victoria Bratton, for sponsoring this award and presenting it alongside the coaches.

The next award of the evening went to Henry and Stan, and it was the Players player award.

Presented by coaches Katie and Sam, and sponsored by Upgrade Electrical, this award went to two players who their teammates think deserve recognition for their skills, attitude, and commitment to the team.

This award is a true reflection of the respect and admiration of their peers. As well as this, this award is extra special because earning the respect of your peers and teammates is a lot more difficult than being the best player on the team.

Truly a fantastic effort boys!

Let’s take a look at our third award of the evening, which was the Coaches Player award, sponsored by Cruise with David and Ben and presented by coaches Carolyn and Shaun.

These players have shown exceptional dedication to their team, displayed great team spirit, and demonstrated significant development of their skills throughout the season.

It was so difficult to choose, we ended up with four winners this time!

Congratulations to Hollie, Coopa, Robbie and Lyla!

The Player of the Year awards were up next, sponsored by Rebecca Beaton Accountancy Services.

This accolade is awarded to the players who have made a real effort to improve their football skills and their knowledge over the past season.

The winners of this award are players who have shown dedication to their personal growth and development not only in the team but within the sport.

Congratulations to Franky, William and Jess!

Sponsored by Rebecca Beaton Accountancy Services and presented by coaches Carolyn, Shaun, Sam and Katie, this award is fantastic encouragement to keep up the hard work!

The last award of the night was our Club Person award presented by Sophie and Lisa from the Dixon Group and sponsored by Omega Motor Company!

This award goes out to recognise those players who not only excel in their sport, but also use their platform to advocate for the well-being and development of other young people.

These individuals are committed to making the sport of football inclusive and accessible for all, regardless of background or ability.

It was awarded to Henry, Herbie and Jess for all of their work helping make sport inclusive and accessible to all. Well done to all three winners.

After the awards, young volunteers Chloe and Lacey were commended for their efforts in making our LV sessions inclusive, fun and accessible to all players with their own trophies for the season; well done girls!

After this, it was time for Lacey to give us all a rendition of her speech about inclusion, diversity and accessibility within our society today that she performed in front of her school! Well done, Lacey!

As well as celebrating the achievements of all our players over such an amazing season, we also celebrated our achievements at St George’s Park during our games at the Frame Football Festival in May.

All of the players who were there on the day were given the opportunity to come and collect a certificate to commemorate such a special day for them as players and us as a club.

Franky was there right at the front to cheer the loudest! Well done all of you!

It was then time for pizza and photos, which everyone was excited about.

Courtesy of Cruise with David and Ben, all of our players were given the opportunity to have their picture taken with their award against the LV backdrop, which was a great experience for all.

As well as this, all the Little Victories family gathered for team shots.

Coming together to do the signature LV pose, all we have to say is that the pictures look incredible!

The raffle was the last event of the evening and with lots of prizes to be won, excitement ran high!

There were lots of tickets being sold and lots of prizes up for grabs. Who was going to win them?

From bottles of fizz, bath smellies, toys to weekends away, we were all treated if we won!

Thank you to everyone who donated a prize or bought a ticket to join in the fun because without you, this could not go ahead!

Volunteer Katie, and author of this article shares:

"I just want to take this time to thank every single one of the sponsors of our event. Every single one of you have helped us put on a night that none of us will forget in a while!

Without support from people and organisations like you, Little Victories FC could not do such amazing work so thank you all from all of us at Team LV.

Lisa and the Dixon Group have raised so much money for our club, we can have another two seasons and David and Ben sponsoring the Coaches Player award and giving up their time to capture the event for us, is just amazing.

Bridge McFarland LLP sponsored the entire event and allowed us to make it what it is. To everyone who supported not only this event, but the entire Little Victories club, thank you."
